Ouagadougou: A territorial gendarmerie brigade has been established to reinforce the security presence in Dialgaye Commune. The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Dialgaye municipality, Nogwaya Joseph Sawadogo, presided over the installation of the Dialgaye territorial brigade of the National Gendarmerie on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. This unit takes over from the National Police, which had been present in the municipality since 1985. The ceremony brought together administrative, traditional, religious, military, and paramilitary authorities, as well as a large turnout from the local population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Dialgaye police station, established in 1985, covered the commune which has 30 villages, in addition to the commune of Tensobentenga in the province of Kourittenga. In accordance with the decree determining the territorial jurisdiction of the National Police and the National Gendarmerie, as well as the circular relating to the implementation of the second phase of the deployment plan of the services of the two forces, the National Police Brigade of Dialgaye, operational since 1985, gave way, this Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to a territorial brigade of the National Gendarmerie.

Commissioner Robert T Yameogo expressed his gratitude to the highest authorities and, on behalf of the staff of the Police Station, conveyed his appreciation to the local authorities and the population for their collaboration. The commander of the gendarmerie brigade in Dialgaye, Issoufou Ou©draogo, also expressed his gratitude to the hierarchy for his appointment as commander at the head of this gendarmerie brigade in Dialgaye. "I wanted to sincerely thank the outgoing commissioner and his team for their availability and for everything they have done for the municipality of Dialgaye," he stated.

The Samand-Naaba, representing the chief of Dialgaye, praised the efforts made by the commissioner and his team and welcomed the commander of the gendarmerie and his men. The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dialgaye, Nogwaya Joseph Sawadogo, reassured the commander of the gendarmerie and his team of the administration's availability while wishing the commissioner and his elements good luck for the rest of their mission.
