ADDIS ABABA – Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh called on Ethiopians to stand together to safeguard the country’s sovereignty across all spheres. Speaking on the occasion of Sovereignty Day, celebrated on Pagume 3 (September 8, 2024), he emphasized the significance of unity in ensuring Ethiopia’s sovereignty in all circumstances.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, national sovereignty is maintained through sacrifices, and efforts must be made to achieve independence in economic, technological, knowledge, and budgetary sectors. He stressed that independence cannot coexist with reliance on foreign aid, urging all Ethiopians to work towards safeguarding Ethiopia’s sovereignty in its entirety.
