Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis, is traveling to Brussels to participate in the Foreign Affairs Development Council of May 4, 2023.
The Council agenda includes the following items: a) The global consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine on partner countries/ EU’s support to Ukraine and b) The reform of multilateral development banks. The latest developments in Sudan and the EU’s support to Afghanistan will be discussed as well, as there is great concern about the further deterioration of the human rights situation for women and girls in the country, especially following the Taliban’s decision on 4 April 2023 to ban women from working with the UN agencies.
