Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Kostas Fragogiannis will represent Greece at the 1st EU-Central Asia Economic Forum, to be held in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek on Friday, November 5, 2021.
This is an important initiative taken jointly by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, with the aim of deepening EU’s relations with the countries of Central Asia, on the basis of the current Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the two sides.
The Economic Forum is structured in three thematic sessions: a) green growth, b) digitalization and c) creation of a sound business and investment environment, with Deputy Minister Mr. Fragogiannis participating in the third one.
The aim of the Economic Forum is to strengthen regional cooperation and to explore ways for the EU to support reforms that will reinforce Rule of Law, entrepreneurship, innovation, education and the use of RES, contributing to the overall recovery of the region’s economies in the post-COVID-19 era.
