Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis, held a telephone conversation today, Thursday, June 30, 2022, with the Minister of Immigration & Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Nabila Makram.
During the conversation, the two sides made mention of the excellent level of bilateral relations, based on their long-standing and historic ties of friendship, and explored ways to further strengthen their cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Mr. Katsaniotis referred to the role of the Diaspora, as a link between the two countries, and expressed his desire to visit Egypt as soon as possible. In this regard, he stressed that he is looking forward to the further deepening of bilateral cooperation, as well as making contacts with the Greek Communities and visiting the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine of Mt. Sinai.
The Deputy Minister and Ms. Makram underlined the importance of trilateral cooperation schemes and looked into the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting between Greece, Cyprus and Egypt in the near future in Cairo. Lastly, the Deputy Minister expressed his appreciation to the Egyptian Minister and thanked her warmly for her contribution to the consolidation of cooperation and friendship between Greece and Egypt, both at the international and bilateral level.
