Deputy Minister of Foreign, Affairs Andreas Katsaniotis, received Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, Andrei Popov, at his office today. During the meeting, which was held in a cordial atmosphere, the two sides confirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations and agreed on the need to further enhance their cooperation in areas of mutual interest, inter alia through the conclusion of bilateral agreements.
The Deputy Minister referred to the two peoples’ historical and cultural ties, emphasizing the centuries-old presence of the Greeks in Moldova, which serve as a bridge of friendship and cooperation. Moreover, he presented Greece’s policy for Greeks abroad to the Moldovan Ambassador who, for his part, praised the constructive presence of Greek diaspora in Moldova and elaborated on the latest political developments in his country.
