OUAGADOUGOU: The Minister in charge of Defense, General Célestin Simporé, has called on the people of Titao and Djibo to put aside their differences and unite against external threats. Leading a government delegation, General Simporé emphasized the importance of social cohesion during a visit coinciding with the 64th anniversary of Burkina Faso’s independence.
According to Burkina Information Agency, General Simporé delivered a message from the President of Faso, urging unity among the population and between them and the Defense and Security Forces. The message highlighted the need to avoid revenge and work together to preserve the nation. “We congratulate you for what you are already doing and encourage you for your resilience,” stated General Simporé, stressing the importance of unity in overcoming challenges.
The delegation included the Minister of Security, Police Divisional Commissioner Mahamoudou Sana, the Minister in charge of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Marie Kargougou, the Minister of Education, Sost
hène Dingara, and the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Faso, Captain Céleste Anderson Medah. General Simporé also addressed those who have taken up arms against their own country, urging them to reconsider their actions and return to the fold.
Minister of Education Sosthène Dingara underscored the significance of education in rebuilding the state, emphasizing the role of teachers in shaping future citizens. “Changing a man, changing a society, is a long-term process,” he noted, encouraging educators to instill values of integrity and patriotism in children from an early age.
The active forces of Titao and Djibo expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts while presenting grievances for consideration. The delegation also visited the Djibo Medical Center with Surgical Unit to show support for healthcare staff working under challenging conditions.
