Dédougou Regional Director Outlines Secondary School Exam Preparations

Dédougou, Burkina Faso — Dr. Denis Vimboué, the Regional Director of Post-Primary and Secondary Education (DREPS) for Boucle du Mouhoun, convened a meeting with journalists on Friday, May 31, 2024, to discuss the preparations for the upcoming secondary school examinations in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional education department is well-prepared for the administration of the exams, which include the BEPC (Brevet d'Enseignement du Premier Cycle), CAP (Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle), BEP (Brevet d'Études Professionnelles), and the Baccalaureate. The regional director highlighted the implementation of the SIGEC software, which has been updated to address issues from the previous year and to streamline the management of the exam process.

The exams are set to commence with the BEPC, BEP, and CAP written tests starting on June 4, and the Baccalaureate from June 18 to July 5, 2024. In total, 15,972 candidates will participate in the exams in Boucle du Mouhoun, including 3,051 internally displaced students. The candidates will be spread across 65 juries and 80 secondary centers. For the technical exams, 256 will sit for the CAP and 534 for the BEP in five juries located across Dédougou and Nouna.

Dr. Vimboué reassured that logistical preparations, including the safe transport of exam materials, have been completed and all stakeholders are ready for the exams to begin. He expressed gratitude towards the media for their ongoing support and role in communicating the efforts of the education sector to the community.

The director closed his remarks by ensuring that the examinations will be conducted proficiently, reflecting the concerted efforts of all involved parties.
