Dedougou Municipal Police Mark 30th Anniversary with Cement Donation to Faso Mebo

Mouhoun: The Dedougou municipal police presented a donation of three tons of cement and ten shovels to the presidential initiative Faso Mebo as part of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of the municipal police in Burkina Faso. The handover ceremony took place in the presence of the High Commissioner of Mouhoun Province, Souleymane Nakanabo, who received the donation on behalf of the State.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Souleymane Nakanabo, the High Commissioner of the Mouhoun province, stated that this gesture is part of a national dynamic aimed at marking the thirty years of existence of the municipal police in a useful and civic way. He praised the act as a contribution to national development, emphasizing that the municipal police, beyond their security and administrative duties, take actions that contribute to local development.

Mr. Nakanabo expressed his satisfaction and conveyed the provincial authorities' gratitude for this support to the Faso Mebo initiative, which works to promote urban development for the benefit of the population. He also invited other public and private structures to follow the example of the Dedougou municipal police, stating that building the country is the responsibility of all Burkinabe. The High Commissioner concluded by commending the continued commitment of the Dedougou municipal police and reiterating the call for citizen mobilization around development actions.

For the director of the municipal police of Dedougou, Daouda Sere, this donation symbolizes the corporation's commitment to contributing, alongside the State, to improving the living conditions of the population. He reminded that security and development are inseparable, stressing that the municipal police force is composed primarily of citizens concerned about the well-being of their community.

The director indicated that this action is part of a rich and varied program of activities planned for the commemoration of the thirty years of the municipal police. These include a regional flag-raising ceremony, open days from December 4 to 6, a popular cross-country race, and informational and awareness-raising radio programs on the missions, responsibilities, and limitations of the municipal police.

The corporation also plans a large-scale awareness campaign on helmet use, accompanied by an urban parade, to promote road safety in the run-up to the holiday season.
