Boulgou: The prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Zabre, Alain Boubie Bassano, thanked the community's active members on Monday during the raising of the national flag at the Zabre gendarmerie brigade. This ceremony was part of the Patriotic Commitment Days.
According to Burkina Information Agency, at 6:45 a.m., gendarmes, forestry agents, customs officers, municipal police, and other paramilitary forces took their places at the Zabre gendarmerie brigade. Community leaders, heads of decentralized state services, civil society organizations, and various associations gradually joined the ranks. By 7 a.m., the participants formed a large circle around the mast, and an officer announced the start of the ceremony. Under the command of Officer Jean de Dieu Bonkoungou, two gendarmes positioned themselves at the foot of the mast as the national anthem played and the flag was raised. The anthem concluded with the motto of Burkina Faso, "Homeland or death, we will prevail," before the gendarmes returned to their posts.
The brigade commander of the Zabre gendarmerie, Djibril Doulcoum, welcomed the participants and extended his wishes for the new year. He expressed hopes for a healthy, prosperous, and peaceful year for the country. Following him, Hanouna Gouba, the representative of the chief of the canton of Zabre, Naaba Kougri, thanked the officials of the commune for their dedication to social cohesion. He praised the work of the decentralized state services and humorously suggested that the PDS should become the first high commissioner of the future "Leere province," a yet-to-exist province.
Alain Boubie Bassano acknowledged the suggestion and promised to relay it to the appropriate authorities. He expressed his honor at participating in the first raising of the colors at the gendarmerie brigade. On behalf of the people, he thanked the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) for their efforts in the commune of Zabre and encouraged the people to applaud themselves for supporting local authorities.
Bassano also informed the assembly that the authorities had approved the continuation of work related to the management of the municipality's land liabilities. He urged the community to remain resilient to ensure the success of the process, which aims to open up prospects for new housing developments in Zabre.
