Samorogouan: The people of Samorogouan celebrated the Day of Customs and Traditions on Friday, May 15, 2026, in an atmosphere of communion, joy and fraternity. The celebration, coupled with the grand traditional funeral known as "Sanga-Ba", mobilized administrative, customary, religious authorities as well as the various social components of the commune.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in the royal courtyard, the notables received a delegation led by the President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Samorogouan, Kongnan Zoumana Traor©. The spokesperson for the notables, Soungalo Traor©, welcomed the presence of the administrative authorities at this ceremony, which he described as a framework for sharing, social cohesion and the promotion of traditions.
The President of the Special Delegation indicated that the institution of the Day of Customs and Traditions by the government aims to preserve and transmit cultural values to younger generations. He emphasized that this day also constitutes a moment of reflection, religious tolerance and prayer for peace, social cohesion and living together in Burkina Faso.
The ceremonies were marked by ritual sacrifices, including a white rooster and a black bull, followed by blessings for peace and stability in the country.
