Day of Customs and Traditions Celebrated in Orodara with Prayers for Peace and Unity

Orodara: The celebration of the Day of Customs and Traditions was marked this Friday in Orodara by traditional rites, prayers and blessings for peace, stability and social cohesion in Burkina Faso. The ceremonies took place in the canton as well as at the traditional chiefdom of Orodara, in the presence of customary, religious and administrative authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on this occasion, the chief of the canton of Orodara, His Majesty Boureima Traor©, welcomed the establishment of this national day dedicated to endogenous values and African traditions. He highlighted that this celebration offers people the opportunity to reconnect with their cultural roots and to promote the values of solidarity, respect and living together. 'Our customs and traditions form the basis of our identity. Preserving these values means contributing to strengthening peace and unity among the sons and daughters of Burkina Faso,' he said.

The same appreciation was expressed by the village chief of Orodara, His Majesty Massa Traor©, who expressed his gratitude to the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, and his Government for the establishment of this day. For him, valuing traditions helps to consolidate social cohesion and to transmit ancestral values to younger generations. 'We must preserve our cultural heritage and pass on to the youth the values of respect, unity and solidarity bequeathed by our ancestors,' argued the village chief.

The two traditional authorities also received a visit from the Minister of Servants of the People, Mathias Traor©, who came to show them the support of the Government. The celebration also saw the participation of various religious denominations. Father ‚¬Å¡¬°variste Sawadogo, parish priest of Notre-Dame d'Afrique in Orodara, indicated that this day calls upon all Burkinab¨, regardless of their religious affiliation. 'As Christians, Muslims and Africans, we must think together about how to value our culture so that it contributes more to the development and flourishing of our society,' he said.

It is worth noting that this celebration coincided with the fifth anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty Massa Traor© as chief of the village of Orodara.
