Darius Shaalukeni Re-Elected as Mayor of Helao Nafidi Town

Helao Nafidi, Namibia – The Helao Nafidi Town Council has re-elected Darius Shaalukeni as the town mayor for the next 12 months. The election took place on Thursday, reaffirming Shaalukeni’s leadership in the town’s administration.

According to Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), Shaalukeni, a member of the Swapo party, will be assisted by Deputy Mayor Penexupifo Matias. Fellow Swapo councillors Sackaria Haimbili, Fillipus Shimumunyen, and Lucia Nghililewanga will continue as members of the management committee. Meanwhile, Independent Patriots for Change (IPCs) members Loide Hamutenya and Elago Thomas will serve as ordinary council members. Haimbili has also been re-elected as the chairperson of the management committee.

In his acceptance speech, Shaalukeni emphasized his commitment to effective and efficient service delivery in Helao Nafidi. He pledged to streamline processes, eliminate bureaucratic obstacles, and ensure prompt and professional services for the town’s residents. Shaalukeni highlighted his party’s goal to create a thriving environment for residents and businesses and to continually improve the quality of life. He called for cooperation from all stakeholders, local business people, and the town’s inhabitants to address development challenges and build a desirable town for locals and visitors alike.
