Ouagadougou: The AS Douanes management appointed a new technical director on Saturday, January 16, 2026. Daouda Kouanda, a customs officer and active grassroots footballer, has been appointed to the technical directorship of AS Douanes' football section.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Daouda Kouanda discovered football at a very young age, a sport that gradually shaped his life. From a young age, he frequented the pitches and became involved in local sporting activities, developing an approach based on organization and knowledge sharing. This focus led him and some friends to initiate a competition dedicated to developing young football talent in the Nakambe region.

Designed as a structured framework, this competition aims to offer young players a space for expression and progress. It contributes to talent identification and the revitalization of local football, while emphasizing respect for the rules, discipline, and teamwork.

Through this initiative, Daouda Kouanda is contributing to the development of grassroots football. Alongside his sporting commitments, he pursues his professional career within the customs administration. He thus balances his professional responsibilities with his sporting activities, in an approach based on rigor, discretion, and a strong work ethic. These principles guide both his administrative work and his involvement in football.

Continuing this commitment, Daouda Kouanda created and promoted a football training center called "Olympique de Ouaga." This center aims to provide regular coaching for young players, emphasizing technical training, game understanding, and sportsmanship. The center also strives to be an educational environment where sports practice is instilled with a sense of responsibility.

In light of this background, the AS Douanes management appointed him Technical Director on January 16, 2026, by official memo effective immediately.

In this role, he is responsible for technical coordination, sports development, and the implementation of the club's project, in accordance with the missions defined by the governing bodies.
