Dakoro Municipality Strengthens Health Services with New Ambulance Donation

L©raba/health: The special delegation of Dakoro, a rural commune in the province of L©raba, handed over the keys to a new ambulance worth 48,360,000 CFA francs to the Management Committee (COGES) on Thursday, March 5, 2026 in Sindou, to strengthen the quality of health services at the commune level.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the goodwill of the president of the special delegation (PDS), Daniel S©b©go, in his work was recognized and commended by the village chief, Yaya Ouattara. The aim of this donation is to bolster healthcare services in the commune of Dakoro, where the special delegation, led by S©b©go, has actively contributed to local health infrastructure enhancements.

The donation marks the second ambulance provided by the special delegation of Dakoro; the first, which cost over 40 million CFA francs, was delivered in August 2024. The Mayor of Dakoro noted that the special delegation decided in March 2025 to purchase the ambulance, with its arrival in February 2026.

Daniel S©b©go outlined the 2025 budget's allocation for constructing a laboratory, hospital ward, maternity ward, doctor's office, doctor's residence, pharmaceutical depot, and incinerator, with contracts already awarded for these projects. The municipal authority also encouraged the population to foster social cohesion and maintain the ambulances.

Looking forward, plans include building a daycare center, opening roads, and constructing a 10,000-cubic-meter water tower. The village chief, Yaya Ouattara, praised the accomplishments of the Dakoro District Development Officer (PDS) and acknowledged the improvements in the village since S©b©go's tenure.

According to projections from the National Institute of Statistics and Demography (INSD), Dakoro municipality has over 20,000 inhabitants across five administrative villages, with Dakoro as the municipal capital. It also has four primary healthcare centers (CSPS), three of which are operational.
