Cuanza sul: Health authorities in the province of Cuanza-Sul have launched a cholera vaccination campaign in the Quicombo commune, Sumbe municipality, targeting approximately 837,309 individuals.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the campaign will extend over a period of 10 days across the municipalities of Boa Entrada, Cond©, Conda, Gabela, Gangula, Porto Amboim, Quilenda, Seles, and Sumbe, which have all recorded cases of cholera. The health initiative involves 404 vaccinators and 808 mobilizers who are tasked with administering the cholera vaccine orally to the population.
At the opening of the event, Adilson Candeeiro, head of the Inspection Department at the local health office, emphasized that this campaign is an opportunity to educate the public about the importance of adopting basic sanitation measures and ensuring the consumption of clean water to prevent cholera and other diseases.
