Ouagadougou: The Higher Council of Communication (CSC) has expressed its readiness to support the newly established Burkina Information Agency (AIB) in its communication efforts as a State Public Establishment (EPE). CSC President Jean Louis Modest Ouédraogo conveyed this commitment during a visit to the AIB headquarters on Wednesday, offering congratulations and encouragement for the agency’s new mission.
According to Burkina Information Agency, President Ouédraogo, accompanied by several colleagues, assured the AIB team of CSC’s partnership in ongoing restructuring efforts. He praised the agency for its current information quality and emphasized CSC’s willingness to be a privileged partner for future initiatives.
During the visit, AIB Director General Séraphine Somé Millogo outlined the agency’s history and its new objectives. She emphasized AIB’s role in providing reliable and accessible information to support public policies in Burkina Faso. The agency aims to expand its coverage to all provinces, reach
ing municipal levels with correspondents. Furthermore, AIB plans to enter into contracts with organizations to ensure the dissemination of quality information, with aspirations for significant transformation by 2025.
The visit also included insights from AIB’s Editor-in-Chief, Tilado Apollinaire Abga, and Jean Paul Tougma, representing the Head of Technical and Multimedia Services, who explained the operational aspects of their departments to the CSC delegation.
Notably, CSC’s visit marks the first time a Burkinabe public authority has engaged with the AIB since its establishment as an EPE on August 21, 2021.
