Ouahigouya: A crocodile was captured in a residential courtyard in sector 14. On Wednesday evening, a crocodile found itself in a home in the Sigui-Vousse neighborhood, in sector 14 of the city of Naaba Kango, creating panic among the family concerned and in the surrounding area.
According to Burkina Information Agency, alerted by residents, a team from the Water and Forestry Department immediately went to the scene to assess the situation, as part of its missions to protect and safeguard forest and wildlife resources. Indeed, a team of agents from the Yaadga Regional Water and Forestry Brigade and the Ouahigouya Departmental Water and Forestry Service, led by Water and Forestry Lieutenant Rasmane Kiendrebeogo, managed to capture the crocodile around 5 p.m. and return it to its biotope, in the waters of the Kanazoe dam, a few cables’ lengths from the houses.
The vigilance of the populations living near the dam, as well as the promptness and professionalism of the Water and Forestry agents who, through their responsiveness, made it possible to avoid a situation that could have been dramatic.
