Lunda-Norte: At least 36 diamond stones of different carats have been seized in the last 24 hours in the municipalities of Lucapa, X¡-Muteba, and Luremo, eastern Lunda-Norte province, by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).

According to Angola Press News Agency, the diamonds were seized during a micro-operation to combat trafficking in strategic minerals, illegal possession of firearms, theft, and other violent crimes.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of an AKM-type firearm and its magazine with six rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 900 bags of cement, two trucks, and a South African-made excavator were confiscated. Thirteen citizens were arrested as suspected perpetrators, including a security guard who was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm.
