Zhengzhou: Cotton futures closed lower Monday in daytime trading on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE). The most active cotton contract for January 2025 delivery lost 25 yuan (about 3.48 U.S. dollars) to close at 13,985 yuan per tonne. According to Namibia Press Agency, on Monday, the total trading volume for six listed cotton futures contracts on the ZCE was 346,150 lots with a turnover of 24.33 billion yuan. As the world's largest producer, consumer, and exporter of textiles, China listed cotton futures on ZCE in June 2004, aiding cotton-related enterprises in hedging against price risks.
