Cotton Futures Close Lower on Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange.

Zhengzhou: Cotton futures closed lower Monday in daytime trading on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE). The most active cotton contract, set for January 2025 delivery, saw a decrease of 15 yuan, approximately 2.09 U.S. dollars, closing at 14,185 yuan per tonne. According to Namibia Press Agency, the total trading volume for the six listed cotton futures contracts on the ZCE reached 410,856 lots, translating to a turnover of 29.17 billion yuan. China, noted as the world's largest producer, consumer, and exporter of textile, introduced cotton futures on the ZCE in June 2004. This strategic move was aimed at allowing cotton-related enterprises to hedge against price risks effectively.
