OUAGADOUGOU: The Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility, Emile ZERBO, conducted an inspection of the Ouagadougou-Donsin International Airport construction site, focusing on its infrastructure development and access roads. The visit, which took place on Thursday, October 17, 2024, highlighted the ongoing efforts to complete the airport project and its connecting expressway. According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister ZERBO's visit commenced with a briefing at the Donsin Airport Project Management headquarters in the Somgandé district of Ouagadougou. The briefing covered the status of the airport construction, including the development of an approximately 25 km long 2X3 lane expressway. This expressway is designed to link Ouagadougou with the new international airport via the under-construction Kossodo interchange. The minister's delegation proceeded to the east side of the airport's access ramp, visiting a public utility zone designated for specific developments beside the ramp. The tour continued to the west side, examining the junction between the main road and the airport access ramp, before reaching the airport platform. Here, Minister ZERBO received a comprehensive overview of the project's progress, including the radar hill, control tower, landing strip, and both aircraft and passenger parking facilities. Concluding the site visit, Minister ZERBO emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the airport. He urged those responsible for the construction to maintain a focus on quality to deliver a robust infrastructure that will serve future airport users effectively.
