Gaoua, South-West Region – Today, Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of the Transition and Head of State, officially initiated the construction of the Gaoua Regional University Hospital Center by laying its first stone.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the hospital is a response to the urgent need for quality healthcare services in the region. Despite the ongoing conflict, Traore emphasized the necessity of development projects like this hospital.
The hospital, valued at over 45 billion CFA francs, will offer a full range of services and is designed to elevate the healthcare standard in the region. The Governor of the region, Divisional Police Commissioner Boureima Savadogo, and the Head of Canton of Gaoua, His Majesty Bifaté II, expressed their anticipation for the project. Olivier Picard, the manager of the construction company, committed to creating a high-quality infrastructure. The Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, in his address, urged adherence to deadlines and specifications for the hospital, which will span 25 hectares and have a capacity of over 300 beds.
