CHANGSHA: Construction of a maglev express line linking the cities of Changsha and Liuyang in central China’s Hunan Province started on Monday, according to local sources. The project marks a significant development in the region’s transportation infrastructure.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the maglev express line has a designed speed of 160 km an hour and stretches 48.73 km in total. The first phase, covering 39.52 km, will connect seven new stations and requires an investment of around 10.44 billion yuan (about 1.45 billion U.S. dollars).

The express line is noted for its strong climbing ability, small curve radius, low vibration, and low noise. It also allows for conducting 200 km/h tests in the future, as stated by its developer.
