WASHINGTON — A significant charge has been leveled against the American media by Representative Buddy Carter, a Republican from Georgia. In a Wall Street Journal article, Carter claimed the media have been misleading the public about President Joe Biden’s health issues, ignoring his verbal slips and falsehoods, while simultaneously depicting former President Donald Trump negatively.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the media portrayed Biden’s health more positively than warranted, ignoring signs of deterioration and diverting public attention from serious inquiries. “Americans saw Joe Biden’s health deteriorate, but they were told not to believe it. They heard about the economic recovery, forced to choose what they could pay for – for gas or food,” Carter wrote. He also criticized the portrayal of Trump, arguing that despite claims of a fragmented Republican Party, the party was in fact united.
The congressman’s critique extended beyond individual misrepresentations, accusing the press of broader political bias. “It is the media, not the White House, that should be blamed for covering up the discord among Democrats,” he asserted. This comes as President Biden, on July 21, announced he would not seek reelection, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate. The decision precedes the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination scheduled for August 1, ahead of their national convention in Chicago.
