Namentenga: Users and local residents are concerned about the delay in the progress of the work. The construction and paving work on the Boulsa-Kalwartenga road, which commenced in April 2024, has seen little advancement, causing worry among users and residents of the Boulsa-Kalwartenga section in the province of Namentenga (Centre-North), particularly with the onset of the rainy season.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the situation is exacerbated by the sight of parked machinery at the construction site, which has fueled concerns about potential flooding risks. Residents fear that the incomplete road could lead to dangerous situations such as drowning after heavy rains, as the road is likely to be flooded.

In response to these concerns, the local community has urged the construction company to intensify its efforts to mitigate any unfortunate incidents during the rainy season. Noel Nadinga, the provincial director in charge of infrastructure, has assured the public that he is maintaining regular communication with the company to expedite the project.

Mr. Nadinga remains hopeful that the obstacles causing the delay will be addressed, allowing the project to continue for the benefit of the population. The construction and paving project, which started in April 2024, is expected to be completed within 20 months, excluding the rainy season, at a cost of 10 billion 565 million 507 thousand 10 FCFA to the State.
