Community Effort Leads Sanitation Drive in Zorgho

ZORGHO — A significant gutter cleaning operation took place in Zorgho on Wednesday, spearheaded by the special municipal delegation and engaging various local stakeholders. The initiative was designed to prevent flooding and enhance the town’s sanitation ahead of the rainy season.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President of the special delegation, the cleaning operation was aligned with the Emergency Organization plan to improve sanitary conditions and mitigate flood risks. The event saw the participation of civil society organizations, local traders, and municipal workers, who worked together to clear obstructive debris from the town’s gutters. Badolo encouraged ongoing community involvement in maintaining the town’s infrastructure and highlighted the recent authorization for the municipality to manage the gutter systems constructed as part of the December 11 infrastructure projects.

The community’s response was positive, with local leaders and residents committing to regular maintenance efforts to ensure a clean and healthy environment, particularly in preventing mosquito proliferation and flooding during the rainy season.
