Luanda: Community organization and joint income management are producing positive economic results for families, according to Belarmino Jelembi, the director-general of the Local Development Institute (FAS). The initiative is promoted by the monetary assistance program Kwenda community savings banks. According to Angola Press News Agency, Jelembi stated that community banks are more than just financial instruments; they are creating a new culture of savings, responsible credit, and cooperation among rural families. This contributes to reducing social vulnerability. Jelembi highlighted that Kwenda began intervening in the municipality last year by combining cash transfers with productive inclusion actions. He explained that 46,965 households were registered in a process that supports immediate consumption and lays the foundation for communities' economic autonomy.
