Committee for 17th Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair Installed

Ouagadougou: The National Organizing Committee for the 17th edition of the Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair (SIAO) has been formally established, marking the start of preparations for the major event scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 3, 2024. This year’s fair will focus on the theme “African Crafts, Youth Entrepreneurship, and Empowerment.”



According to Burkina Information Agency, the technical advisor to the Minister in charge of Industry, Trade, and Crafts, Alassane Ouédraogo, who also chairs the SIAO board of directors, led the installation of the organizing committee. He commended the members for their competence and expressed hope that their experience would contribute to the success of the event and benefit the nation.



A roadmap outlining the responsibilities and tasks for the upcoming fair was presented to the committee after the formal reading of its composition. The fair is expected to draw around 4,000 exhibitors from across the continent, making it one of the largest craft fairs in Africa.
