Sourou: The training for supervisors and facilitators of the 2nd edition of the Mandatory Patriotic Immersion (IPO) was officially launched on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Tougan. Commander Cheick Ali Mohamed Zongo, acting on behalf of the High Commissioner of the Sourou Province and president of the provincial IPO unit, underscored the necessity of rigorous preparation, stating that the success of this edition hinges on the quality training of facilitators and supervisors.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was held in the meeting room of the High Commission of Tougan and included the presence of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), members of the provincial cell for the implementation of the IPO, and various actors involved in organizing the activity, which is set to commence on July 27, 2026, across the national territory.
Provincial Director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Sourou, Joseph Karambiri, highlighted that the training session aims to bolster the capacities of facilitators and supervisors, enabling them to effectively guide future immersion recruits. He emphasized the importance of equipping facilitators and supervisors with the necessary understanding of the objectives pursued by the People's Progressive Revolution (PPR) to better prepare recruits for social, civic, and citizen life.
Karambiri noted that the training comprises thirteen modules covering topics such as order and discipline, violent extremism, endogenous prevention mechanisms, self-defense, hygiene, as well as themes related to civic duty, patriotism, and republican values. He also reminded future recruits to maintain diligence, discipline, and concentration throughout their immersion, as the certificate they will receive is essential for pursuing higher education.
Wendyam Martial Ou©draogo, Secretary General of the province and rapporteur of the provincial cell of the IPO, echoed the call for rigor among supervisors and facilitators, emphasizing its importance for the successful execution of the second edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion for the benefit of future conscripts.
