Command and Services Company Triumphs in RCAS Corps Commander’s Cup

Ouagadougou: The Command and Services Company claimed victory in the second edition of the 30th Commanding Officer's Cup in military ball, defeating the Heavy Mortar Company 8-1. This win marks them as the standout team of the Command, Support and Supply Regiment (RCAS) tournament. According to Burkina Information Agency, the final match held in Ouagadougou showcased the Command and Services Company's dominance over the Heavy Mortar Company. Despite attempts to counter, the Heavy Mortar Company could not match their opponent's performance. The event, held under the theme "Sport, a symbol of social cohesion and resilience," spanned three weeks and featured 17 teams. These teams included military personnel, paramilitaries, and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, all competing to foster unity and cooperation. Lieutenant-Colonel Michel Armand Ouedraogo, Commander of the 3rd Military Region and sponsor of the edition, commended the event's success. He emphasized the importance of unity, stating, "Bringi ng civilians and military personnel together around a ball and playing board games to strengthen bonds of brotherhood is more important in the current situation, where everyone must join hands so that together we can overcome the threat." A precursor to the final was a gala match between women and veterans of the Corps, resulting in a 2-0 win for the veterans. Lieutenant Frederic Sedogo, representing the Regional Director of Water and Forests and guest of honor, praised the camaraderie displayed, noting, "We witnessed the spirit of cohesion among the various competitors. Everyone is a winner." Co-sponsor Boussouma Wapassi Naaba Ligdi encouraged the continuation of the competition, which also included events in board games and petanque. The best performing teams were awarded medals and cash prizes for their achievements.
