Djibo: Combatant forces regain control of the situation after violent clashes. Air vehicles were immediately put on alert and dispatched to the area. From the air, the pilots observed a critical situation: the Djibo base was surrounded by a horde of terrorists arriving by the hundreds, even thousands, who were advancing in a coordinated assault.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the first air vector launched the initial strikes, targeting the attackers closest to the fortifications. However, due to the scale of the attack, additional air reinforcements were urgently called in. As the battle intensified around the base, an armored vehicle belonging to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), previously stolen by the attackers, was spotted leaving the area. It was tracked to Nassoumbou, where it was camouflaged.

Several air units then joined the theater of operations, initiating a significant air battle above Djibo. The stolen armored vehicle was quickly located and neutralized. Concurrently, groups of wounded or entrenched criminals attempted to hide in the nearby fortifications and abandoned buildings. They were identified, tracked, and subsequently eliminated in precise strikes.

In a state of disarray, the terrorists attempted to evacuate their wounded. Their efforts were thwarted when an aerial ambush was set for them as they crossed the city to reach the dam area. A powerful missile was deployed on the convoy, inflicting heavy losses. The survivors changed direction but were intercepted again by another missile.

Rather than pursuing the fleeing survivors, the air force opted for a surveillance strategy, allowing enemy fighters to return to their bases in Nassoumbou, Filio, Kereboule, Taouremba, Bouro, Damba, and several surrounding hamlets. Once these locations were identified, a comprehensive campaign of air strikes was launched, supported by arriving ground reinforcements.

On the afternoon of May 11, the counter-offensive commenced with targeted strikes on Taouremba. This was followed by successive bombings in Filio, where a high concentration of fighters was present, and Belehed©, where terrorist elements had taken refuge in an orchard. In Kereboule, enemy positions were locked and immediately destroyed. The villages of Bouro and Nassoumbou, which had been transformed into terrorist strongholds, were subjected to several waves of targeted strikes.

While air units continued to fly over the area, suspicious movements were detected as enemy groups attempted to move logistics and reorganize near Nassoumbou. These movements were promptly targeted and struck in turn.
