Baku: The Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages, Jacques Sosthene Dingara, presided over the festivities for the 15th edition of the Nahouri Excursion at the foot of Nahouri Peak. The event, held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, featured activities such as the ascent of the peak, community meals, and moments of fraternity, all conducted despite the rainy weather.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the excursion, which was chaired by Minister Jacques Sosth¨ne Dingara and attended by the Ambassador of Ghana to Burkina Faso, Kenneth Akibat©, brought together thousands of participants. The event emphasized social cohesion, resilience, and the blending of communities from both sides of the border between Burkina Faso and Ghana. The day was filled with various activities, including artistic performances and shared meals, highlighting the unity and cooperation between the two nations.

Minister Jacques Sosth¨ne Dingara remarked on the significance of the event, stating, 'Being present at the foot of Pic Nahouri today sends a strong signal. The strong mobilization of all social classes despite the rain testifies to the extraordinary resilience of our people and our commitment to the values ??of fraternity.' He also emphasized the role of domestic tourism as a tool to strengthen national unity and cultural sovereignty.

Mahamoudou Ak©r© Adiawourabou, chairman of the organizing committee, noted the importance of the event, stating that the involvement of government members, administrative authorities, and the Ghanaian delegation underscores Nahouri's role as a symbol of sub-regional integration and peace. The event concluded on a festive note, marking the 15th edition as a celebration of fraternity and conviviality within the Nahouri province.
