Namentenga: On Saturday, June 1, 2024, the Departmental Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Council (CODESUR) of Boulsa provided essential food supplies to 27 widows of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) who died in combat. This support took place in the North-Central region of Namentenga province, as part of efforts to assist families affected by ongoing conflicts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, president of CODESUR and prefect of Boulsa, the organization remains committed to supporting the bereaved families of those who have sacrificed their lives in defense of the nation. During the distribution ceremony, a minute of silence was held in honor of the fallen VDP members, with a call to remember their courage and sacrifice. Sibdou Sawadogo, representing the beneficiaries and a mother of six, expressed gratitude towards CODESUR and local officials for their support during this challenging time. Each of the 27 widows received a 50 kg bag of corn, underscoring the community's ongoing solidarity with the families of fallen soldiers.
