Sandbondtenga: The Sandbondtenga section of the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) called on religious and customary communities in Kaya to promote religious tolerance, social cohesion, and peace during a collective breaking of the fast and Lent, organized at the Naaba Oubri roundabout.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Issa Sawadogo, Secretary General of the CNAVC Sandbondtenga section, stated that the initiative aims to consolidate living together among different communities. "We organized this collective break with the aim of strengthening living together and social cohesion between religious communities," he said.
Following the collective breakdown of relations, traditional authorities, the representative of the Presidency of Burkina Faso for the Koulse region, and Issa Lagvare delivered messages focused on religious tolerance, social cohesion, and citizen mobilization in favor of peace.
Presiding over the ceremony, the Secretary General of the Sandbondtenga province, Pasnewind¨ Ouedraogo, praised the initiative. He stressed that this meeting, organized during the period of fasting and Lent, is an opportunity to bring people together around the values of fraternity, solidarity, tolerance, and forgiveness. "We invite everyone to promote tolerance, peace, and living together, because it is in peace and unity that we will be able to build our country," he stated.
Mr. Ouedraogo also urged the organizers to become more involved in the national dynamic of promoting peace and social cohesion through messages of unity and appeasement. The ceremony ended in a friendly and fraternal atmosphere, punctuated by slogans in support of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP) and its leader, Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Faso.
