Sapouy: Civic engagement is gaining momentum in the municipality of Sapouy. A delegation from the local community watch group, reinforced by representatives from the Ziro provincial branch, paid a courtesy visit to the central police station on Tuesday, in a gesture of collaboration and shared responsibility.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation, led by Sapouy community watch group president Neyoua Tagnan, formally introduced themselves to the police authorities and requested their support in carrying out their mission of civic monitoring and awareness-raising. This initiative was hailed as a strong act of civic commitment to social peace.
The members of the community watch group were received by the Sapouy Central Police Commissioner, Mr. Andre K. Ouedraogo, assisted by his deputy, Mr. Bernabe Bonkoungou. Listening attentively to his guests, the local police chief expressed his satisfaction with this initiative, which he deemed relevant and consistent with the vision of participatory security.
Mr. Ouedraogo reassured the delegation of the police force's readiness to support community policing efforts, while respecting its prerogatives. He also urged his interlocutors to intensify public awareness campaigns to effectively combat acts of incivility, both in the city of Sapouy and throughout the Ziro province.
The discussions, marked by frankness and cordiality, highlighted a shared desire to build a strong partnership between security forces and citizens, promoting responsible citizenship and sustainable coexistence.
The two parties parted on a note of hope, mutual trust, and shared commitment, reaffirming their determination to work together for a more disciplined society that respects republican values.
