Addis Ababa: A high-level delegation from the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), led by Vice Chairman Zhao Fengtao, held talks with Ethiopia's Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide, on future cooperation between the two nations. The discussions focused on Ethiopia's macroeconomic reforms, ongoing economic cooperation projects, and the challenges faced in implementing major infrastructure initiatives financed by China.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Shide briefed the CIDCA delegation on Ethiopia's recent economic achievements and requested China's continued support in advancing key infrastructure projects. He highlighted the importance of restructuring Ethiopia's debt under the G-20 framework and emphasized the need for urgent financing for ongoing and new projects, including technical support for the Addis Ababa Light Railway and electric vehicle manufacturing initiatives.

In response, Vice Chairman Zhao discussed obstacles in the second phase of the riverfront development project and the Ethiopia-Djibouti supplementary works. He introduced China's Global Development Initiative (GDI) and outlined four priority areas for future cooperation, including support for new projects with a grant of 400 million RMB, public and private sector projects through the GDI special fund, and initiatives focused on human development.
