Christophe Ouattara Pledges to Intensify Efforts After Winning 2026 Dafra d’Or

Ouagadougou: Christophe Ouattara, the Rahimo FC defender, was awarded the prestigious Dafra d'Or 2026 on Saturday, June 27, 2026, during the 3rd edition of the Dafra Foot Awards held in Bobo-Dioulasso. Following his victory, Ouattara expressed his gratitude towards the event organizers and his club, emphasizing that this accolade will serve as a motivational force for his future endeavors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Ouattara shared his appreciation by stating, "I thank the organizers for choosing me. I also thank my club for giving me the chance to express myself and show what I am capable of." He regards this recognition as a crucial initiative that not only highlights standout players in Burkinabe football but also inspires young talents to maintain their dedication. Ouattara views the award as an added responsibility, motivating him to enhance his performance and live up to the trust conferred upon him. "This award will push me to redouble my efforts. I hope to win even more trophies in the coming days," he affirmed.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee Lassina Diarra elaborated on the origin of the initiative, noting the absence of platforms dedicated to showcasing young players in the national championship. "We noticed that there was no platform to promote young players in the Burkinabe league. So we needed to create a framework to give them visibility so that they could quickly secure contracts and monetize their talents abroad," he explained.

Diarra further appealed to partners and authorities for increased support of the Dafra Foot Awards, positioning it as a national initiative aimed at advancing Burkinabe football.
