Choiseul Africa 2023 Award Celebrates Gender Diversity and African Leadership

Casablanca, Morocco – The Choiseul Africa Business Forum, held in Casablanca on November 16 and 17, honored African leadership and gender diversity in its latest edition. Among the awardees were several prominent women, including Mia Lahlou Filali from Morocco, head of Pharma 5, a leader in Africa’s generics market. Filali highlighted the inclusive nature of her company, with a significant female representation in its workforce and management committee.

According to Africa News Agency, the awards ceremony also recognized male leaders for their contributions. Professor Sangu Delle, CEO of CarePoint, a Ghanaian healthcare company, received the Digital Talent of the Year Award. Delle dedicated his award to young African entrepreneurs striving to make a difference despite economic and political challenges. He emphasized the potential of Africa’s youth, comparing their intellectual wealth to the continent’s mineral resources.

Nigerian Abdullahi Bashir-Haske, head of AA & R Investment Group, was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year. His speech echoed the theme of youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. The Choiseul Awards ceremony not only celebrated business achievements but also acknowledged the social impact of these leaders in improving the lives of Africans, especially in health.
