Baku: Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, where they discussed enhancing bilateral relations and strategic partnerships. Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping to President Aliyev.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Ding highlighted the strengthening of mutual political trust since the establishment of diplomatic relations 32 years ago. During their meeting in Astana in July, both nations elevated their relations to the level of a strategic partnership. Ding emphasized the need to implement the consensuses reached by the two heads of state, aiming for continuous development of China-Azerbaijan relations at a new starting point.
China expressed its willingness to work with Azerbaijan to strengthen political guidance and deepen comprehensive cooperation, aligning with their development and revit
alization goals. Ding also congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku, expressing China’s readiness to contribute to international efforts for sustainable development.
Ding acknowledged Azerbaijan’s significant role in international and regional affairs, indicating China’s preparedness to collaborate on the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. This collaboration aims to foster a community with a shared future for mankind.
President Aliyev reciprocated by sending his greetings to President Xi and affirmed that Azerbaijan regards China as a true strategic partner. He emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to Xi’s major initiatives and its willingness to collaborate on the Belt and Road Initiative. Aliyev expressed interest in expanding cooperation in trans-Caspian international transport, trade, investment, industry, and renewable energy to elevate bilateral relations.
