Chinese Stocks See Gains as Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Component Indices Rise

Beijing: Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.53 percent to 4,018.6 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also saw an increase, closing 0.18 percent higher at 13,427.61 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of these two indices stood at 2.17 trillion yuan, equivalent to approximately 306.25 billion U.S. dollars, marking an increase from nearly 2 trillion yuan on the previous trading day. Shares related to tourism, ceramics, and liquor led the gains, while sectors such as home appliances and shipbuilding experienced major losses.

The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, did not fare as well, losing 0.92 percent to close at 3,178.83 points on Monday.
