Shanghai: Chinese stocks experienced a mixed closing on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising by 0.23 percent to reach 3,388.06 points. Meanwhile, the Shenzhen Component Index saw a decline of 0.26 percent, closing at 10,927.51 points.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of these two indices amounted to approximately 2.04 trillion yuan (284.4 billion U.S. dollars), showing an increase from 1.94 trillion yuan recorded in the previous trading session. Stocks associated with duty-free stores and beverage manufacturing were among the top gainers on Thursday. Conversely, stocks in the liquid-cooled server sector faced significant losses.
The ChiNext Index, which tracks China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, decreased by 0.52 percent, closing at 2,256.51 points on Thursday.
