Beijing: Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.22 percent to 3,324.21 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also saw an increase, closing 0.28 percent higher at 10,679.44 points.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen indices stood at approximately 1.48 trillion yuan, equivalent to 206.3 billion U.S. dollars. This marks a decline from the previous trading day's turnover of 1.62 trillion yuan. Stocks in the military and semiconductor sectors led the gains, showcasing their strong performance.
Conversely, the solid-state battery and Chinese liquor sectors experienced significant losses. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, fell by 0.29 percent, closing at 2,190.08 points on Tuesday.
