Chinese Stock Markets See Decline as Key Indices Close Lower

Beijing: Chinese stocks experienced a downturn on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropping by 0.75 percent, closing at 3,377 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also saw a decline, ending 1.1 percent lower at 10,122.11 points.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen indices increased to 1.47 trillion yuan, approximately 204.8 billion U.S. dollars, compared to 1.27 trillion yuan on the previous trading day. While shares related to petroleum and shipbuilding sectors showed gains, those in the textile machinery and media and entertainment sectors were the biggest losers.



Additionally, the ChiNext Index, which monitors China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, fell by 1.13 percent, closing at 2,043.82 points on Friday.
