Chinese Stock Markets Decline Amid Sector Losses

Beijing: Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.81 percent to 3,939.81 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also saw a decline, closing 0.92 percent lower at 13,080.49 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of these two indices stood at 1.93 trillion yuan (about 272.38 billion U.S. dollars), which was an increase from the 1.91 trillion yuan recorded on the previous trading day. The trading session saw significant losses in shares related to coal, chemicals, and pesticides and fertilizers. Conversely, sectors such as furniture, electronics information, and printing and packaging experienced gains.

The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, fell by 1.16 percent to close at 3,069.22 points on Tuesday.
