Beijing: Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising by 0.87 percent to reach 3,870.02 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also experienced an increase, closing 1.53 percent higher at 12,777.31 points.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of these two indices amounted to 1.81 trillion yuan, approximately 256 billion U.S. dollars, marking a rise from 1.73 trillion yuan recorded in the previous trading session. The market saw notable gains in shares related to AI applications, computing power hardware, and the anti-flu concept. However, shares in the animal husbandry and military equipment sectors encountered significant losses.
Furthermore, the ChiNext Index, known for tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, saw a gain of 1.77 percent, closing at 2980.93 points.
