New york: Chinese Premier Li Qiang has urged Austria to join forces with China in safeguarding multilateralism and free trade. During a meeting with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, Li emphasized Austria’s role as a key member of the European Union (EU). He called on Austria to influence the EU to approach China-EU relations with strategic autonomy and a long-term perspective, and to adopt a positive and pragmatic policy towards China for mutual benefits.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Premier Li Qiang is currently in New York to participate in the general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is scheduled from September 22 to 26.
