Beijing: Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the importance of consolidating and expanding China’s economic recovery and development momentum during a State Council meeting. He highlighted the need for concerted efforts to meet the country’s annual economic and social development targets.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Premier Li, while chairing the ninth plenary meeting of the State Council, stressed the necessity of a comprehensive and dialectical approach to the economic situation. He urged active responses to various uncertainties and the effective implementation of decisions made by the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Premier Li called for concrete actions to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Li pointed out the importance of enhancing macroeconomic policy effectiveness, focusing on key priorities to strengthen the domestic economy, and leveraging stability and long-term growth to mitigate global uncertainties. He advocated for efforts to unleash consumption potential, remove restrictive measures in the consumption sector, and cultivate new growth drivers, such as services and new types of consumption.
The Premier also called for solid measures to stabilize the property market, promote the integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial development, and advance high-standard opening-up. He emphasized the need for orderly expansion of both voluntary and unilateral opening-up.
Li underscored the importance of maintaining stable employment, ensuring public well-being, enhancing workplace safety, and strengthening disaster prevention, reduction, and relief efforts.
