ISLAMABAD: A Chinese language speech contest for Pakistani college students was held here on Wednesday, with two students receiving the first prize respectively. Twenty-one students from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the National University of Modern Languages Islamabad (NUML) and Confucius Institute Islamabad participated in the competition, which was followed by a talent show featuring options such as ribbon dance, singing, and group dance.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong highlighted the significant role played by NUML in promoting Chinese language, culture, and fostering people-to-people exchanges between China and Pakistan. He urged the students to maintain a passion for learning, continually improve their skills, and contribute to Pakistan’s development and the building of a China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

ersity’s commitment to increasing investment in Chinese language education. He emphasized the importance of actively promoting Pakistan-China friendship and passing on the longstanding “ironclad” relationship between the two nations.
In an interview with Xinhua, Rida Fatima, a sophomore from NUML and one of the first prize winners, shared her enthusiasm about learning Chinese, stating that it will greatly benefit her future career in Pakistan. She remarked that studying the Chinese language is an excellent means of enhancing interactions and building stronger relationships between the peoples of Pakistan and China.
