Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Congratulates Thai Counterpart on Reappointment

BEIJING—Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi extended his congratulations to Maris Sangiampongsa on his reappointment as Thailand's Foreign Minister on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Wang, who also serves as a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two nations in his message. He emphasized that the phrase "China and Thailand are one family" resonates strongly with the peoples of both countries. Over recent years, guided strategically by their leaders, the notion of building a community with a shared future has seen substantial advancement.

Wang further remarked that the upcoming year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, which is anticipated to bring new developmental opportunities for both countries. Prioritizing the enhancement of China-Thailand relations in its foreign policy, China is eager to continue collaborating with Thailand. The focus will be on implementing the significant agreements made by their leaders and fostering a more tangible and profound partnership.
